Some unscrupulous individuals are calling people to ask why they failed to report for jury duty. When the victim responds that they unaware of being scheduled for jury duty they are asked to provide their social security number and date of birth to check on this fake jury duty claim.

ED seeks to revise the Federal and Direct PLUS Loan Application and MPN, Endorser Addendum, and the School Certification form. The MPN is being revised so the language is more consistent with that of the Stafford MPN.

The Secretary of Homeland Security suspended temprarily certain requirements governing on and off campus employment for F-1 students affected by Hurricane Katrina. This allows students to be considered engaged in a full course of study for the duration of the employment authorization, provided they satisfy the minimum course load requirement.
